‘I never had a face to face conversation with her, yet I knew every single detail of her life.’
Stalking. The word brings to mind strangers crouching in the dark, rooms covered in covert photographs taken without the subject’s knowledge. But what do we really know about it? According to Merriam-Webster, it’s defined as ‘the act or crime of willfully and repeatedly following or harassing another person…’ and data from the Crime Survey of England (2006) estimates that 5 million people experience stalking each year- however, there is less information on those who are behind this obsessive behaviour.
This young woman reached out to WDAT, wanting to share her experiences. She wrote to me with the intent of ‘clearing her name’ and also with the desire to help anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.

‘The intrusive thoughts are the worst…constant images of friends suffering…’
Today’s Interview is Focussed on: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Insomnia.
I planned to ‘revamp’ We Don’t Talk About That at the beginning of June – needless to say, I’m a little late. However, I just want to thank everyone who encouraged me to throw myself back into WDTAT and since doing so, I hadn’t realised how much I missed it! Already there are interviews scheduled (the first one going live at 6:00pm tonight) as well as the first of a new series of information articles, or ‘Spotlights’ focused on the lesser known mental issues.
I can’t wait to start listening to, and sharing, more incredible stories, while learning all the time about the rarer conditions diagnosed as well.
As always, the Contact Form is available to anyone looking to have their voice heard – so please feel welcome to drop me a message if you’d like to be interviewed, or if you’d like to see an article on a specific issue. I hope to hear from some of you!
Stay Safe,
